It was challenging to navigate, and the interface could have better represented where they were taking the brand.

Global Design System

The asymmetrical design of the Boston Dynamics website is no mistake.

Inspired by the movement of the robots and the various services offered, this design style allows users to walk through the site in a similar pattern to the robots.

This, in combination with stunning video and photography, delivers an engaging site that shows the value of Boston Dynamics’ products.

Global Design System

Catering to a male audience, we wanted an overall aesthetic that felt rugged and masculine but still felt like a sophisticated skincare brand.

By using mainly earth tones, subtle textures, and lifestyle photography, we were able to achieve this.

Research & Discovery

Skincare is not a top-of-mind topic for most men.

But in a society where more and more pressures are being put on men to look their best, it has steadily become a growing focus for men 30 years and older.

Through research, we determined that focusing on actual customers would be a better strategy than glamorized model shots. You’ll see this prominent throughout the design of the site.

Final Designs

The homepage immediately introduces you to Caldera’s leading product – the remine. This 3-step system is by and far the most sold item they offer.

We then focus on building trust and credibility with the customer as they scroll down the page.

We highlight that the product is clinically tested, its clean and ethical ingredients, over 1,500 reviews from real people highlighting their faces, and a deeper dive into the clinical results.

Mobile Experience

Like most e-commerce brands, mobile dominates their customer base. We made mobile our first priority, ensuring that the browsing and shopping experience was effortless.

Despite offering a generous discount, Caldera needed help getting customers to subscribe to their product.

Ultimately, it boiled down to a user experience issue rather than a problem with the offer.

By defaulting products to their subscription offering, making the discount prominent, and making it easy to select the frequency in which products are shipped, we increased their subscription purchase rate by 68.49%.

Quiz Page

Our research showed that men often didn’t know where to begin with a skincare routine.

Creating an easy-to-use quiz allowed new customers to find the perfect combination of products quickly.

Multi-Lingual

With a global audience the website needed to translate into 10 different languages. This required a great deal of flexibility from the design in order to work with all of the different character lengths.

On the technical side, GEO-IP controls detect someone’s local region and provide them with what the anticipated language is, user facing controls in the website’s header also allow for individuals to easily switch languages

Donations

Because donations are vital to Dollar Energy, we created a custom integration with Authorize.net to capture donations directly, as well as a system to track donations through data analytics.

We made sure that it was clear where the donations go, who they help, and what the different ways to donate are. To emphasize who the donations are helping, we used lifestyle photography and testimonials from previous clients.

Enthusiastic employees who believe in Dollar Energy’s cause are the foundation of the company. To guarantee that they are able to find the best-qualified employees, we created custom job posts built directly in WordPress.

Additionally, we incorporated more lifestyle photos in areas like the image marquee on the top of the page and included video testimonials from current employees at Dollar Energy to showcase the benefits of working at the company.
